Evolution: Hoi Philoi is an NGO founded by 17 close friends who are in friendship for 15 years since coming together as Students Union leaders of Mizoram University during the year 2005-06. After a decade of intimate friendship, on 17-06-2017, it was mutually agreed to work for common agenda which will be its ‘Aims & Objectives’, it then become a registered NGO. The name comes from the friendship itself, it is derived from a transliteration of two Greek words roughly mean ‘We, The Friends’; therefore, ‘Friends for Social Change’ is constituted as a catchphrase for the NGO. Founding Philosophy: ‘Give back’ is the philosophy of Hoi Philoi ’s foundation.
